Our Mission
To help people in need by creating an unforgettable adventure where the participants raise money and awareness for a cause.
About
JOMO Adventures started as a dream to connect two communities that had been impacted by disaster, New Orleans, LA and Joplin, MO. A vision formed of a bicycle ride that would further bind the two communities while raising funds and awareness to support each community’s rebuilding efforts. JOMO Adventures is a 501-C3 non-profit organization with a Board of Directors/Staff that is 100% volunteer allowing us to use 100% of all donations toward the cause.
2013
Our first event, JOMONOLA (2013), was supported by amazing sponsors and 30 riders who pedaled 821 miles to raise over $155k to rebuild homes and lives of natural disaster survivors. JOMONOLA had a positive impact on communities, sponsors, volunteers and riders so we decided to do it again.
2014
In 2014, we hosted our second event called MOJO Ride. MOJO raised nearly $100k and 25+ riders pedaled from Moore, OK to Joplin, MO. In just two years, our team of riders, volunteers, donors and sponsors have pedaled over a thousand miles and raised a quarter of a million dollars for local charities.
2015
Music City Spin took 20 cyclists nearly 600 miles from Joplin, MO to Nashville, TN. $100,000 was raised to provide transitional housing for women affected by domestic violence and drug addiction at the Lafayette House in Joplin, and for Sophia’s Heart in Nashville. Follow JOMO Adventures Joplin on Facebook for updates on the design and construction of this project.
2016
JOMO Adventures has raised over 400k for our community in the last 3 years. We’ve ridden bicycles nearly 1,700 miles to generate awareness and raise money for tornado recovery, hurricane recovery, and domestic violence. We’re now looking for the next organization that we can get behind and help do what they do. Fill out a brief application for your organization to be considered!
